Lupins Along The TCH

I have to say
I liked the way
the lupins brightened up
my walks each day
along the highway
and along my path
Made me think of
the prettiest cottom dresses
and the flowers in Nan Whiffin’s garden
looking up at me
as I peep over the fence
Knowing that if I let her see me
my grandmother would banish me
to our back yard to pick up stones
or help with the garbage
But as I walk along on
this sunny July day
no one can keep me from
touching the lupins
on my way

About Newfoundland Traveller

I'm a Newfoundlander with a love of reading, writing and travelling. I've travelled around our province and lived in four provinces of Canada. I love a good book and a good blog. My family means the world to me, and some day I hope to travel to many countries of the world with my husband and sons' families.
