Well, first of all when you land in Ventes de Naron, you must know that you are less than 90 km from Santiago de Compostela, the goal of all pilgrims. Some go on to Finnisterre, another couple days´walk, while others just stay put and have a great time.
So if you landed here, you might have washed into town in the rain, so cold that a bed and blanket is all you need. You might also like a hospitalero who is friendly and a good cook. This one is not bad! He has a sense of humour and likes to eat himself. He has a belly that looks like he´s ready to have his baby and that is rare in Spain. Most men I´ve seen are regular without a paunch, though they love their wine and other spirits.
So if you arrived here, you just want a place to sleep and regular food to eat prior to a shower and a snore! So once you are here, the time goes quickly and you chat to people who only speak German or Spanish or French and you hope you don´t insult them in your limited knowledge of these languages.
There are young people here and old ones, and most are just passing through, hoping that tomorrow has some sun in it and your bones don´t freeze before you leave in the morning. Not a place to die! Or freeze to death!
