In an Ancient Monastery By Mistake

We were headed for Casa Da Laura. But it was completely full, we were told by Laura’s son. Laura drove us to the monastery. We had a huge room and only the two of us.

It was built in 1006. The keeper Alice was a joy to talk to and walked part way with us to Cafe Otillia where I treated Yvonne for her wedding anniversay. We had vegetable soup and fried cod with fries. What a meal!

Then we ordered bacon and eggs for breakfast. The waitress was a joy.

We met Paulo and Luiz from Brazil who were related by marriage. They were happy to do the caminho.

We spoke with the owners of the cafe who go to Santiago each year for their wedding anniversary. This year is their 43rd. Way to go!

So a cold wet day but we stayed in a famous monastery.
