May 29/14 Slugging to Pontevedra in the Rain

It was not easy doing 20 km in the rain. We left before daybreak and Angelica went on ahead. After 7 km we met up again in a cafe. There was no seating inside so we were soaked and sitting outside in the showers with a canopy above us.

There were some dangerous crossing of the main highway today. We enjoyed the lanes and villages. There were a lot of rocky uphills and downhills. At times I walked very slowly as I do not want to slip.

We rested at our convent and now feel refreshed after some hot tea and food at the Metropolitan. We had to try to remember all the landmarks to getting back to the street and door. And then we have to get our bearings for the morning.

So…so far Ive been blessed with mosquito bites, a coldsore, a cut on bottom of nose, sniffles of sorts and vertigo. Think the vertigo is nearly gone. Notice it mostly on getting up in night or morning. Did have some cramping in calf the last hour today. Just hope no broken bones or Im in trouble.

Four days of walking and then Santiago for a break. Train or bus to Lisbon afterwards…

So far a very enlightening camino!
